Description

In Indonesia during the Dutch presence, a fourteen-year-old girl who lives in a fishing village leaves for the city upon her marriage to a rich aristocrat, the Bendoro. With her husband rarely present, a servant helps her get used to her new life. But upon the birth of their daughter, her husband banishes her and keeps the child.
