Every year on the high seas, about 20 people disappear without a trace from cruise ships. No one ever comes back. Until now. Martin Schwartz, a police psychologist, lost his wife and son this way five years ago. It happened during a vacation on the cruise ship Sultan of the Seas - no one could tell him exactly what happened. Martin has been a complete mental wreck since then and has chosen to work undercover. In the middle of his current mission he gets a call from a strange old lady who describes herself as a thriller writer: Martin must go back to the Sultan of the Seas -- there is evidence of what happened to his family. Martin never wanted to set foot on a ship again - and yet, he follows up on the contact and learns that a few weeks ago on the Sultan, a missing girl resurfaced. What exactly is going on here?
